ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Virginia Hernandez, and I am an award-winning photographer and video producer. I've been a photographer for most of my life - I got my first film camera when I was 8, a bright red Vivitar that was my pride and joy. I started in video production work during college, serving in nearly every role on sets of student documentaries, and eventually working on TV shows and live broadcasts. 

I have a passion for capturing scenes, and love to connect with people in front of and behind the lens. I have a knack for creating a sense of genuine comfort and openness with my subjects, whether as a photographer or a video director.

My photography has been featured on Regan Billboards, included in the Austin History Center archives, and been published in magazines and newspapers around the state. My video work has been showcased nationwide, featured on digital billboards, and for large corporate event audiences all over Texas.

I'm a native Texan, and have lived in Austin for more than 20 years. When not shooting, I spend lots of time with my family and my multitude of kitties. I find inspiration and fun in live music, reading, cooking, travel, and making bad jokes.
